The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2008
The Down to Earth Partners Ltd (DTEP Ltd), based locally in Sixpenny Handley, are delighted to be exhibiting for a second time at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2008.
Winners of a silver medal in 2007 for their ‘Silver Glade’ DTEP Ltd are once again working with world-class local companies. The design, ‘Convergence of the Elements’ which was created by Matt Rideout of 'Art Outside' artoutside@tiscali.co.uk combines the sleek modern lines of stainless steel with the timeless elements of water, fire (represented by orange and red perennials), and earth. Designs in Stainless are providing the edging of the triangular pool and stacked, planters, whilst Knoll Gardens have supplied their superb grasses to enhance the planting. The stainless steel planters contain herbs grown by Jekka’s Herb Farm. In addition DTEP Ltd are working with Sherborne Turf and Simali Stone to make up the other elements in the garden.
‘We are so lucky to have so many world-class companies working with us on this garden. Designs in Stainless have won many commendation awards and their work is outstanding. Neil Lucas from Knoll Gardens has won gold medals at RHS shows over many years and his advice and help have been invaluable’ says Dorinda Forbes, Managing Director of DTEP Ltd. ‘We are really excited about exhibiting this year and trying something a bit different. Our pool in particular is an interesting concept; we are using stainless steel moulded over a solid wooden frame with a black liner more usually used for swimming pools. We are working with another local company, Aquaflex who are providing us with this’.
